![]() ![]() It's a literalute abomination, from start to end. Believe when I tell you that "Witch and Wizard" has absolutely nothing to be saved. I'm actually 21, so I still got a long way to go, but believe I don't want to find a worse book than this one. If this book is "the next Harry Potter", I want to throw myself to the river. I've never felt so embarrased to say that I actually like YA fantasy. I've never felt so powerless to think how many innocent trees were cut for making paper for this shit book. I've never felt such a huge amount of hate for a book. You know what I'm afraid? I'm afraid that this book is actually a best-seller. They're afraid of books, and knowledge, and ideas. They're afraid of music, and music is our life. They're afraid of the young, and we are the young. "It's all great experience and to be able to do it in a situation where you're up couple of touchdowns probably took a little pressure stress away from him," Entz said. They're afraid of change, and we must change. There should be ample opportunity, possibly including this Saturday against North Carolina A&T. Perhaps Bison fans will have to be satisfied seeing Payton get extended duty in blowouts. Bison coaches hinted during the offseason they'd install a package for Payton, but with Patterson gone to Temple and Payton the true backup now it seems unlikely. Patterson was key in the playoffs and title game running the ball as essentially a "Wildcat" quarterback. There's been much speculation whether Payton will be used like NDSU used Quincy Patterson II late last year with a run-heavy package. Not only his experience but also the other 10 guys that were on the field at that time." The receiver kept moving instead of sitting down. "I know on that one he threw the snag and kind of got double-jerked by the receiver. "There were probably some things that could have been cleaner from a route standpoint with some of the players we had in the game," Entz said. On third-and-4 on the Bison's next possession, Payton misfired to Luke Waters after double-pumping.Įntz said some of Payton's struggles were the product of inexperience and miscommunication. That allowed a Drake defender to move in and break up the pass. On third-and-6 on the second possession of the second half, Payton looked to have Logan Hofstedt open over the middle for a first down, but delivered the ball a count late. Payton threw two incompletions to fullbacks that appeared to have potential. Payton graded out at 55.7 out of 100, according to the analytics website Pro Football Focus, which is average. "Just knowing that he was going to have multiple series back to back, getting on the phone with coach Hedberg (quarterbacks coach Randy Hedberg), going through the whole process of what it was like to be a starting quarterback I think will be really good for him as he moves forward. ![]() "This going to pay dividends down the road for him," Entz said. Still, the experience was crucial toward Payton's development. With that advantage over an overmatched opponent, NDSU throttled back the offense and kept things simple. NDSU's plan was to play Payton the second half if the Bison had a big halftime lead, with they did at 42-7. Marshall against Valparaiso during their football game Saturday, Sept. North Dakota State's Cole Payton turns to hand off to T.K. The not-so-good: The Bison went three-and-out on Payton's first two drives and had just one first down on his first three, plus he had a couple of incompletions that looked like opportunities for first downs. The good: Payton played one series with NDSU's top offense - needed to get acclimated with the starters - and led a long touchdown drive on the Bison's final possession, even though all the plays were runs. ![]() In those games, Payton showed the athleticism and speed onto which the sky-high expectations are pinned. ![]() It was underwhelming, considering the flashes Payton showed a year ago when he tore off a 37-yard touchdown run against Valparaiso and an 18-yard TD run against Indiana State. He finished 2 of 4 passing for 7 yards and ran three times for 9 yards. Payton played the entire second half in relief of Cam Miller, getting 21 snaps in four series. There needs to be a little bit of growth there." "But that was probably his first opportunity of extensive plays or where he was controlling the huddle, taking the calls from the sideline. "I would have liked to see him play a little bit better probably," head coach Matt Entz said immediately after the game. ![]()
